Tidu Mankoo: Success criteria for soft tissue management in the esthetic zone
- Soft tissue management
- CAD/CAM prosthetics
- Prosthetic materials
The lecture reviews the criteria for successful soft tissue management in the esthetic zone. Correct three-dimensional implant position around 3 mm apical and 2 mm palatal of the final desired gingival margin on the restoration support the buccal plate and adequate stable bone volume and architecture. Adequate soft tissue thickness at the transmucosal connection, if needed with help of connective tissue graft, establish the biologic width to provide a biologic seal against bacterial infiltration. Early placement of the final abutment during the healing phase, use of biocompatible CAD/CAM materials such as Titanium or Zirconia, and optimal emergence profile design support adequate development and maintenance of appropriate soft tissue contours.
