Terms of Participation beFOR Symposium Clinical Case Competition – APAC Region (2025/2026)

Theme: Immediacy – Immediate Placement & Restoration

Purpose and Scope The APAC Clinical Case Competition invites clinicians from the Asia-Pacific region to submit clinical cases that demonstrate the benefits, challenges, and outcomes of immediate implant placement and restoration. The competition aims to showcase innovative approaches and best practices in achieving predictable results using immediacy protocols.

Eligibility To participate, applicants must meet the following criteria:

  • Be a licensed clinician practicing in one of the following Asia-Pacific (APAC) countries: Afghanistan, American Samoa, Armenia, Australia, Azerbaijan, Bangladesh, Bhutan, Brunei, Cambodia, China, Cook Islands, Fiji, French Polynesia, Georgia, Guam, Hong Kong, India, Indonesia, Iran, Japan, Kazakhstan, Kiribati, Kyrgyzstan, Laos, Macau, Malaysia, Maldives, Marshall Islands, Micronesia, Mongolia, Myanmar, Nauru, Nepal, New Caledonia, New Zealand, Niue, North Korea, Northern Mariana Islands, Pakistan, Palau, Papua New Guinea, Philippines, Russia, Samoa, Singapore, Solomon Islands, South Korea, Sri Lanka, Taiwan, Tajikistan, Thailand, Timor-Leste, Tonga, Turkey, Turkmenistan, Tuvalu, Uzbekistan, Vanuatu, Vietnam
  • Submit only one clinical case per clinician
  • If the case was performed by a team, only the submitting clinician is eligible for any awards
  • The case must feature Nobel Biocare products, regardless of indication

Submission Requirements All required materials must be submitted exclusively through the official webform available at https://www.for.org/en/apac-clinical-case-competition. Submissions sent via email or through any other channel will not be accepted or considered.

Clinical Case

  • Must be written in English
  • Use the official clinical case template provided on the competition webpage
  • Accepted formats: PPT or PDF. Any other formats will not be accepted or considered
  • Include step-by-step documentation from diagnosis to final restoration
  • High-quality clinical photographs are required
  • Longer follow-up periods are encouraged to demonstrate long-term success
  • Do not include any identifying marks such as names, clinic logos, or other identifiers to ensure blind review

Patient Consent Form

  • Use the official template provided in your preferred language
  • Submit as a Word, PDF, or scanned photo document
  • Accepted formats: DOC, DOCX, PDF, TXT

Personal Video Introduction

  • Duration: Maximum of 3 minutes
  • Language: English
  • Content: Personal introduction and motivation for participating
  • Quality: Clear audio and good lighting
  • Accepted formats: AVI, MOV, MP4, OGG, WAV, WEBM
  • Only reviewed for Top 10 finalists to maintain anonymity during initial judging

Timeline

  • Competition Launch: October 1, 2025
  • Submission Deadline: January 31, 2026
  • Finalists Announced: March, 2026
  • Award Ceremony: April 28, 2026 (during the beFOR Symposium in Bangkok)

Review Process

  • All submissions will be pre-screened by the FOR Science Council
  • The top 10 cases will be evaluated by an international panel of expert judges. The selected top 10 finalists will present their cases to the panel of judges in a live online review session which will be scheduled for February 2026
  • Evaluation criteria include clinical relevance, innovation, and quality of documentation

Awards 

The top 3 winners of the APAC Clinical Case Competition will receive:

  • An all-expenses-paid trip to Bangkok, Thailand, which includes:
    • Economy-class round-trip flights
    • Appropriate modest accommodation
    • Complimentary access to the beFOR Symposium
    • Complimentary access to the APAC Nobel Biocare Symposium
  • On-stage recognition during the beFOR Symposium
  • The 1st place winner will have the opportunity to present their case live to the symposium audience

Anonymity and Fairness 

To ensure impartiality:

  • Do not include any identifying information in your case submission
  • Videos will only be reviewed after the initial blind review process
  • Any breach of anonymity may result in disqualification

  • Prepare your case, consent form, and video according to the specifications
  • Submit all materials via the official webform on the competition webpage

Acknowledgements

Clinical cases involve a team effort, including assistants, doctors, lab technicians, prosthodontists, and many others. However, while all contributors can be acknowledged in the case report, only the clinician who submits the case shall receive the award and the opportunity to present, with travel and accommodation included.
