
Joshua Shieh
Biography
Dr. Joshua Shieh is a third generation clinician with over 85 years of dentistry in his family. Born and educated in Chennai, South India, he completed his Bachelors in Dentistry (2005) and Masters in Periodontics (2012). After immigrating to Canada with his family in 2013, he successfully completed the National Dental Examining Board (NDEB) exams within a short span of 9 months in 2014. Currently serving as a travelling surgical associate across 20 offices in and around the Greater Toronto Area in Ontario, Canada since March 2015, Dr. Shieh also holds the positions of Program Director and Instructor at AIC Education with Hiossen Canada, and Clinical Instructor and Faculty for dental implant surgical mentoring at The Institute of Dental Excellence (T.I.D.E), Toronto.
With a rich academic background, Dr. Shieh is committed to continuous education. He holds several affiliations, Diplomate of the American Board of Oral Implantology, a Fellow of the Academy of General Dentistry and the International Congress of Oral Implantologists. Beyond his clinical roles, Dr. Shieh is actively engaged in academia, having served as a past clinical instructor at the University of Toronto and Education committee member at the Ontario Dental Association. He is also involves himself in
conducting workshops, seminars, and guest lectures on topics varying from wisdom teeth surgery, basics in dental implants and tissue regenerative procedures.
A multilingual professional, Dr. Shieh is fluent in English, Chinese (Hubei Dialect), Tamil, Hindi, and can read and write in French. His commitment to community service is evident through his involvement in church activities, mentoring high school students and youngsters with special needs. Dr. Shieh's extensive list of achievements includes numerous awards for academic excellence, best paper awards, and recognition as a nominee for the Top 25 Canadian Immigrant Awards in 2016. His passion for athletics, music, and advocacy for social causes showcases a well-rounded individual dedicated to both his profession and the betterment of society.
